When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

I would also stress that (in my view) there is no clarity in the German as to whether these letters are kept private, monitored, or otherwise - as it sounds like an in-patient psychiatric facility, I think all we can assume is that this right to correspondence exists, not that the letters themselves will be kept private.

As philgoddard aptly points out, this needn't just be letters: so possibly "sending and receiving written correspondence" might be preferable, offering a suitably catch-all approach to all kinds of communications (while still, emphatically, avoiding any notion of privacy)

: Phil's point is really not good, sorry. See section 22 and 23 of Berlin's Gesetz über Hilfen und Schutzmaßnahmen bei psychischen Krankheiten (PsychKG). Section 22 is Schriftverkehr (proves your monitored). Section 23: Telekommunikation (texts + emails!!).

: This is what I'd normally go for, but the German doesn't specify that these letters are kept private, monitored, or otherwise [edit] that's very true - but I can imagine certain cases where it may be necessary for the patient's health!

Wouldn't you think a right to sending and receiving letters is worth nothing if they're still allowed to snoop on you?

: Agree with Jennifer; it may be a privately privatized private clinic, but that doesn't make the correspondence private.//Just look at the law I mentioned below. It clearly(!) says correspondence can be monitored. It's ike prison, basically.

Sounds almost like a "Life of Others" scenario: Write away - knock yourself out. We'll just open a few of them letters when we please to see what kind of company you're keeping.

: This has been suggested before (see Jennifer's last added note). You could have posted a simple "agree", instead of reinventing the wheel, as it were.
