Spanish term

CONSTANCIA EXPRESA DE LA EXISTENCIA DE CRÉDITO

Spanish to English Law/Patents Finance (general) Recording contract
Hi All,

I'm currently translating a procurement document and would appreciate help with the term above, which is the name of a clause. It's content is as follows:

Las obligaciones económicas que se derivan del cumplimiento de este contrato, se atenderán con los créditos cuya existencia se acredita en los certificados cuyos datos más significativos son los siguientes:

Best regards,

Darren

Discussion

Proof of funds I guess a "proof of funds letter" would be the equivalent (it doenst really matter whether it is credit or equity), but it has a slightly different meaning. Otherwise I agree, it is somwhat literal translastion

Sorry folks ...but although "documentary evidence of the existence of credit facilities" is a faithful translation of the query phrase, it is is too long-winded for a heading IMHO.
John Rynne Apr 2, 2019:
Yes, see your point However, reading it again, I think this question deals not so much with a document saying that the guy is "good for" the debt but, rather, a document setting out specifically that whoever has a credit line amounting to XXXX million.
neilmac Apr 2, 2019:
@John I think by "name of a clause" the poster means it's the heading for the clause posted, hence my suggestion.
John Rynne Apr 2, 2019:
Your context doesn't contain the problem phrase So it's not clear how your problem phrase connects to your context. Is it one of the "datos más significativos"?

documentary evidence of the existence of credit facilities

Payment for work under the contract will be made out of the credit facilities confirmed by the certificates.

The length is to assist in the understanding, of course it can be pruned in a number of ways.

CREDIT REFERENCE

A “credit reference” is a document that attests to the creditworthiness of a party to a contract... Literally, the query phrase translates as: "EXPRESS PROOF OF THE EXISTENCE OF CREDIT"... which sounds rather odd; as I see it, it's simply a credit reference, so that could be heading for this clause. Unless you really feel you need to spell it out any further.

agree neilmac : This could work as the heading IMO - at least it's succinct.
