From a video endoscopy report:
"Esofago de forma y distensibilidad conservada, se aprecia atasco alimentario con fibras organicas ... "
I have not come across this condition before, so am not sure of the correct English term. Is this "food impaction"? or what is the standard way of saying this in English?
Thanks for your help

food blockage
The terms I'd expect to find for this kind of thing are "food (or alimentary) blockage/obstruction/impaction...
"A gastrointestinal (GI) obstruction is when a person’s GI tract is blocked."
"A gastrointestinal (GI) obstruction is when a person’s GI tract is blocked."
Example sentence:
Blockages can sometimes occur from undigested food...
A food blockage results in minimal watery, or no, output from the stoma.

Hi Neil, thanks also for your suggestion. I find "food impaction" more often in a clinical context. |
