@ Angeles It was quite late yesterday when I gave my answer and to be honest I then didn't read the entire text but focused on the 'shape memory staple' and now see that you have already translated the bit with Formgedächtnis. I didn't see your 'zweibeinig or vierbeinig' but got the same results. However, I didn't include them in the headbox of my answer because as you, I was not sure about the Beins :). The pods of the staples seem to be like a kind of pins 'Stifte'. I included some pictures in my answer. Maybe somebody else has a better idea.

Formgedächtnis-Legierungen (FGL) bzw. shape-memory alloys (SMA) vermögen nach einer relativ starken Verformung ihre ursprüngliche, evtl. programmierte Gestalt wieder einzunehmen. Je nach Legierungszustand erfolgt die Umkehr unmittelbar nach der Entlastung als pseudoelastisches bzw. superelastisches Verhalten, oder nach Erwärmung oberhalb einer legierungsspezifischen Temperatur mittels Formgedächtnis-Effekts.
