Angela, methink the specific phrasing here would depend on whether they are talking about a hypothetical future development or the action already taken by the bad guys in the past. The above, naturally, is the "for the future" language. For past misdeeds, it may sound like this:

No subsequent action taken by the defendants to dispose of their ill-gotten gains had any bearing whatsoever on the evidence of a crime having been committed or the qualification of such crime.
