The European Union has taken a number of actions to increase resilience and enhance its cybersecurity preparedness. The first EU Cybersecurity Strategy 1 adopted in 2013 set out strategic objectives and concrete actions to achieve resilience, reduce cybercrime, develop cyber defence policy and capabilities, develop industrial and technological resources and establish a coherent international cyberspace policy for the EU.
