French term

soniomètre

French to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals tests on medicinal products
This information appears in a description of the Straub tail reaction: "l’angle formé par la queue de l’animal avec le plan de la table d’expérience, a été mesuré avec un soniomètre" I haven't been able to find any translation for "soniomètre". Can anyone help please?

@Maggie perhaps you could check with the agency as to whether they think there is a typo

goniometer

Could it be a possible typo and be a goniometer instead?

A goniometer is an instrument that either measures an angle or allows an object to be rotated to a precise angular position. The term goniometry is derived from two Greek words, gōnia, meaning angle, and metron, meaning measure.

inclinometer

I haven't been able to find the answer in any of the usual sources. However the 'level box' device is described as a soniomètre on the French amazon website

https://www.amazon.fr/Footprintes-Régulateur-dinclinaison-so...

and as an inclinometer on the UK site.

An inclinometer does measure angle, I think they use various means to do this depending on the model
