Discussion

Lancashireman Jan 10, 2020:
Marc Rothman "Non-logged-in visitor" This might account for the three-day delay.
jccantrell Jan 10, 2020:
So .... what WAS the answer?
Marc Rothman Jan 10, 2020:
My question was finally released for approval three days after I submitted it, so the answers are now sadly redundant.

Terminology questions to Proz used to be posted within about half an hour of posting. Has this now changed? If all questions are now going to take this long to be vetted, the service becomes much less useful.

thanks Phil and a belated HNY to you too
neutral Gordon Matthews : I don't think "snippet" is wrong. It just seems a bit flippant.

Peer comment(s):

disagree Kim Metzger : kurz = short and Bestandteil = component and Kindergarten = children garden?

neutral philgoddard : Kim - are you posting from the future? // Oh, looks like I am too.//I don't think this answer is wrong, by the way.

disagree writeaway : knowledge of German language isn't a great reference to back 100% confidence and the answer doesn't fit in with the context

excerpt

How I might phrase it.
Peer comment(s):

agree Gordon Matthews : I think "short extract" would be even better. An "excerpt" could be fairly long and the word is less frequently used (and undertood?) than "extract".
