The first functional test to be performed is train tracking; it can also be done with a train in the bypass mode not being controlled by the CBTC system. Tracking by the ZC and the ATS is tested at the same time and can be considered a low-level CBTC test. If the communication is ready and the equipment has been subject to PICO, the train tracking tests may be performed at the same time as the localization tests. Following the train tracking tests, the CBTC basic functions are verified.
