- figure 2 illustre un exemple de cycle d'exploration en position, selon lequel on asservit le moteur d'assistance en position afin de faire passer alternativement le mécanisme de direction d'une première position extrémale à une seconde position extrémale.

- Selon une possibilité de l'invention, on peut prévoir d'appliquer, lors de l'étape (a) d'activation automatique, un cycle d'exploration en position CY_pos qui asservit le moteur d'assistance 7, et par conséquent le mécanisme de direction....

What term did you use? Imene, I'm curious what term you finally used for this translation, since "position sensing/scanning cycle" was unacceptable, but also the only answer provided.

Not so sure about using 'exploration' in an engineering sense...hence sensing or maybe even acquisition...?
