Note that this is specifically the term used commonly in such things as market research surveys: "Which socio-economic group are you in?"
Other terms are used in different contexts, but many would be seen as "inappropriate" in the specific context stated.

: I have the nagging feeling that more context is needed + it depends of what is the whole scale/range of "types of jobs" in this survey.

I think Asker has made it pretty clear for us, by giving us the other categories — and in any case, it is a fairly standard term used in such socio-economic surveys.

Mmh.

: Not the sort of term we'd use in HR. Nor in a socio-economic group survey. / Specifically in the field of surveys? I too have practical knowledge in both HR and surveys.

: in this survey they are categorising individuals - you can't say of one person that he/she is "force(s) de travail" - that would rather apply to the whole group / the whole category.

What is a labor job?
A laborer is a person who works in manual labor types, especially in the construction and factory industries' workforce. ... Laborers work with blasting tools, hand tools, power tools, air tools, and small heavy equipment, and act as assistants to other trades as well such as operators or cement masons
Although nearly any work can potentially have skill and intelligence applied to it, many jobs that mostly comprise manual labour—such as fruit and vegetable picking, manual materials handling, manual digging, or manual assembly of parts—often may be d

Discussion
In UK a "labour job" most literally would be a job a "labourer" (no qualifications required) on a building site, not exactly the same as "Examples of 'labour jobs' are : oil field worker, fruit picker, cleaning staff."
in you look at the International Standard Classification of Occupations https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Standard_Classif... you will find "managers" and "professionals", but no trace of any "labour jobs" NOR "intermediate job'" (e.g. long-haul truck driver). (NEVER heard to that category, BTW! - what's that? "intermediary on what kind of scale? )
What exactly are supposed to be "labour jobs" in this survey depends on the purpose of survey, who or what is being surveyed, and how other categories have been defined. And of the country involved. Canada? USA?
