Example sentence:
"He was a joint PhD researcher at EECS Dept., University of California, Berkeley, USA during 2014-2015 (...)"
"(...) Joint PhD program is a PhD program where a candidate is jointly enrolled at two universiClara Maathuis is currently a transdisciplinary joint PhD Researcher in Cyber Warfare/Operations (...)"

PHD research fellowship / PHD senior research associate
It seems "investigador integrado" is being used in more than one sense. For instance, according to FCT rules, it defines a position (with the corresponding degree of autonomy and salary) in a given D&I project. As a grant-giving institution, FCT has rules related to the attribution of grants. (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/unidades/faq.phtml.pt or https://www.fct.pt/faq/pr.phtml.pt?idFaq=C0E36499-1935-466C-...
In another sense, it refers to a permanent in-house position as a researcher of a member of faculty at a university, as opposed to a researcher being hired temporarily for a specific project. For example, in the webstie of Universidade de Coimbra: https://www.uc.pt/fluc/religionAJE/equipa_investigacao
There might not be an exact equivalent for this term since it is dependent on university culture which is different from country to country.
In the context of CV building and HR, the term will be read by potential employers who may not know the nuances of the term as used by FCT, for instance. It might be more adequate to highlight this experience as a "PHD research fellowship" or "PHD senior research associate". This is a suggestion. Asking the client for more details is important.

Ser investigador com o grau académico de doutor ou o título de agregado e que em qualquer dos casos têm obrigatoriamente um contrato ou vínculo com uma instituição portuguesa;
Dedicar um mínimo de 30% a atividades de investigação. A percentagem de tempo total de dedicação a atividades de I&D deve ser a que resulta da subtração a 100% da percentagem dedicada ao ensino e a outras atividades que não sejam de I&D;
