The term appears in the maintenance description for slab tracks, the text specifically talks about Measurement and Observation runs of the tracks. I don't really know how to translate "stirrup reinforcement". Does anyone have an idea?

Context:

Horizontal Connection
The horizontal fixation of the vertically disconnected Sub- and Superstructure is achieved usually by cam plates (see and ), dowels or stirrup reinforcement.
These connection systems depend on the individual project design.
