français term

logis respiratoire

français vers anglais Médecine Médecine (général)
From a bronchoscopy:

Aspiration bronchique avec envoi des analyses en cytobactériologiques aspergillus et viraux logis respiratoire.

Also sort of seems like something missing from the sentence...

Thank you!

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (2): Yolanda Broad, Yvonne Gallagher

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Anne Schulz Jun 29, 2020:
@Yvonne I'm impressed! It took me several readings until I suddenly realized the "sound" of it, with a relaxed mind in the evening. And I actually think Juan's solution of "logis respiratoire = respiratory tract" has a really nice, poetic note to it :-))
Yvonne Gallagher Jun 28, 2020:
@ Anne yes, I take your point. I voted non-pro precisely because it's a transcription error and the question should really be closed as "answer found elsewhere", with no glossary entry, as you're also right that the question should not have had an "official" answer in the first place, I don't specialise in medicine but I saw what this should have been the minute I saw the question
Anne Schulz Jun 28, 2020:
Yvonne, thanks for your agree. I think a formal answer is important only for a subsequent glossary entry, and the logical entry, "virologie respiratoire = respiratory virology" will not really be helpful. (Unfortunately, Proz.com still has no 'error glossary' as requested and considered years ago.) BTW, I don't consider this a non-pro question at all: Being fluent in French and English alone, without any technical knowledge of medicine, will not help to tell whether or not "viraux logis respiratoire" can be a correct phrase, and if not, which way it could be corrected.
Yvonne Gallagher Jun 28, 2020:
@ Anne agree with you. You should have put it as answer. Obviously a transcription error
Drmanu49 Jun 27, 2020:
cyto-bactériologie et virologie respiratoire
Marc-André Laniel Jun 27, 2020:
I agree with Anne, if this is a transcription, it sounds like "virologie" (transcribed as "viraux logis"...)
Anne Schulz Jun 27, 2020:
viraux logis = virologiques?
