Spanish term

CD Baño

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Haemodialysis regimen
Hi all,

I came across this term in a patient's haemodialysis regimen report issued by the nephrology service of a hospital in Spain. This is the context:

"Filtro dializador: FX80 Fabricante: FRESENIUS Esterilización: Calor
Membrana: HELIXONE DE ALTA PERMEABILIDAD Superficie: 1,8 Grosor: 35 C.U.F.: 59
Parámetros HD:
Flujo sanguíneo (Qb): 350 ml/min Flujo de baño (Qd): 700 ml/min
CD Baño: 14 mS/cm"

I searched for the abbreviation "CD" on Cosnautas but there were 57 entries... I'd very much appreciate your suggestions!

The target audience is UK.

Many thanks,

Nisah

Dialysate, also called dialysis fluid, dialysis solution or bath, is a solution of pure water, electrolytes and salts, such as bicarbonate and sodium.

Bath dialysate conductivity

Not my field, hence the 3, but dialysate conductivity is measured in mS/cm, with mS being millisiemens.

First, the dialysate conductivity was kept constant at 13.8 mS/cm during the entire dialysis session

agree Helena Chavarria : You were first. Dialysate conductivity/dialysis fluid conductivity/dialysis solution conductivity/dialysis bath conductivity// I hadn't noticed the ® and I wasn't sure if I was going to have enough space for my answer ;-)

Thanks! You Were First is my registered trademark, but I'll turn a blind eye on this occasion :-)
agree Chema Nieto Castañón : Dialysate conductivity (I am not sure why but bath/dialysis bath conductivity is [always?] used in reference to the meter; (dialysis) bath conductivity meter)

Conductivity of Dialysis Bath

CD in this case seems to refer to conductivity:

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out :) Unfortunately I can't select two answers so I've gone with the first to answer...

agree Helena Chavarria : Iim feeling guilty about not agreeing with your answer which I think is also right, not that I specialise in medical texts.

Next, dialysate conductivity was set to 14 mS/cm for the first 3 h and to 13 mS/cm for the last hour of thiosulfate infusion (n = 25).

Dialysate conductivity (Cd) was set to 14 mS/cm.

I've found conductivity dialysate/dialysis bath, conductivity of dialysate/dialysis bath and just dialysis bath.

I don't think you need to use 'bath'
