@Asker, colleagues Why do you waste your time with such KudoZ questions? According to the KudoZ rules, askers should provide the necessary surrounding context to get efficient help from peers. Glindon has not done it yet, although he was politely asked to post the "full context". This query cannot be solved satisfactorily without that context. For the sake of efficiency and the good of Kudoz as a whole, I would refrain from taking part in this type of "guesswork exercises".

There must be an error, it doesn't mean anything unless it's the name of the store "La Requería". "Requerir" is a verb: required, needed. "The job required..." "El trabajo requería..."

Yes I apologise for the multiple postings. While "requirements" is a correct translation, I think, as I have said before, that it is too vague . I think a better rendition would be "essential services/goods" (what is required).

@Phil [I see, not offered to me and I've been around a while.] Anyway, of course we are used to seeing "requisito" or even "requerimiento" as nouns and I wondered if it was meant to be a verb, and just phrased wrong

I'm wondering whether this word is a typo. I can't find any dictionary support for "requirements".

Yes, "essential services or goods" might work IF the rest of your text supports that but the bit you've given is very vague so that's why I would match the vagueness English as what is required or needed.

La requería.

In this specific case "la requería, materiales eléctricos" would be translated as "la requería, electrical materials", as "la requería" is the name of the business, establishment, shop...
In some cases, the particle -ría is added to a noun, meaning "place".
other examples of this phenomena would be: "quesería" (where only cheese is sold) "brasería" (a place where you can eat roasted meat)
