English term

strain

Non-PRO English Other Food & Drink strain
We'll drop in some of these bonito flakes. Turn off the heat and let that settle over about 10 minutes. After we strain it, we've got ichiban dashi, the basic Japanese stock.

They put some bonito flakes in pan filled with water. What he means by "Strain" here? He didn't do anything special.

Thanks in advance,
