This is from a market research report commissioned by a company to ascertain how best to improve internal communications.

The phrase "realidad social y el momento emocional" is one of those market research phrases that is unnecessarily wordy. I have been going around and around with it and wonder if anyone has any bright ideas, please?

"Para captar la atención de los empleados en temas importantes, hay que trasladar al empleado lo que esas medidas/iniciativas etc suponen en el día a día del empleado y ligar la comunicación con la realidad social y el momento emocional del colaborador. No hay conexión emocional con el receptor."

The whole sentence is rather clunky. I toyed with 'personal' rather than emotional as it refers to employee mindset I think,.

My understanding here is that "realidad social" refers to the prevailing atmosphere/interpersonal dynamics/Zeitgeist/corporate culture of the entity where this communication will be conveyed, and that "momento emocional" refers to the emotions that it can be assumed the recipient of the communication is likely to be experiencing at the moment - partly as a result of the aforementioned "realidad social" and partly as a result of more personal factors (e.g., the particular stresses of the job of the recipient; current tensions in the company, or perhaps just within the work area of the recipient, etc.).

Since one cannot know with certainty what such emotions might be, these need to be referred to in probabilistic terms.
