Spanish term

siendo tributario de valoración selectiva

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general)
Imaging has shown some nodules on the patient´s liver. The radiologist says that these are non-specific findings and then they follow it up with the above quote. The latter part of the sentence is given here:

"...inespecífica (no se puede descartar pequeños quistes), siendo tributario de valoración selectiva"

I'm a bit stuck on the last part of the sentence... The only thing that occurs to me is that the clinical significance of the nodules cannot be fully judged based solely on the image...

Thanks for any help you can provide me with!

Thanks Helena! Good to know he is (probably) fine. I was wondering as well when I pursued the link you posted and saw his long-time-no-see photograph.
Helena Chavarria Aug 17, 2021:
About a year (or two?) ago we exchanged a couple of emails and he was fine. He told me that he was taking a rest from ProZ but I haven't heard anything since.

Oh, I hope he is OK.

Thanks, Liz and Helena I wonder what happened to Charles Davis. He stopped answering questions a couple of years ago, and didn't reply when I contacted him.

a selective evaluation/assessment should be conducted

My interpretation without more context would be: it warrants a specific/ selective evaluation / assessment; a specific / selective evaluation is necessary, or similar variations.
Peer comment(s):

agree Kristina Love : Literally it's saying "non-specific (small cysts can't be ruled out), being contingent on a targeted assessment."

Thanks, neilmac!
agree Fiona Baillie : I agree, further assessment is a likely next step as unexplained liver nodules could be cancerous

without specific screening

I would say

Screening means checking your body for cancer before you have symptoms. Getting screening tests regularly may find breast, cervical, and colorectal (colon) cancers early, when treatment is likely to work best. Lung cancer screening is recommended for some people who are at high risk.
