Pathology Reports - Biopsies
"Descripción Macroscópica" is one of the section sub-headings in a pathology report for a prostate biopsy in Spain (to be translated into US English).
I have always translated the section sub-headings "Descripción Macroscópica" and "Descripción Microscópica" as "Gross Examination" and "Microscopic Examination", rather than "Gross Description" and "Microscopic Description". Please could anyone confirm whether or not this is indeed the correct translation in the above context? Thanks, John.

... should do.
According to this page, the "gross description" is one of the two end products of a "gross examination", so it's important to maintain the distinction.
