Hi all,
I'm translating a marketing pamphlet for an endowment fund from French (Belgium) to English (UK) and am having trouble with the term above. Please see below for context.
"[Insurance company] retient 30% de précompte mobilier sur le rendement garanti et la participation bénéficiaire lors du paiement aux personnes morales soumises à l’impôt des personnes morales. C’est un précompte libératoire."
Could anyone help here please? A number of websites suggested "withholding tax" as a translation, but I'm slightly confused as "withholding tax" is covered through "précompte mobilier".

Le prélèvement à la source également appelé précompte professionnel en Belgique, est une technique de prélèvement fiscal consistant à faire retenir par un tiers payeur, au fil des revenus qu’il verse à la personne concernée, l’impôt dû au titre de ces mêmes revenus.
