pendant cette mise au point astrologique

Non-PRO French to English Art/Literary General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters From An Art History Book
Contexte :

Merci Beaucoup,

Barbara

Nov 16, 2021 22:32: Nikki Scott-Despaigne changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): AllegroTrans, Carol Gullidge, Nikki Scott-Despaigne

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Nikki Scott-Despaigne Nov 16, 2021:
Question closed - errant question. Not quite sure how this is an "errant question", but never mind.
Nikki Scott-Despaigne Nov 16, 2021:
A "mise au point" is used to describe something that is being detailed, explained, clarified or focused upon. In context, I think it is quite possible to move away from the precise meaning as it is quite drawn out in the previous sentence, hence my suggestion of "interlude".
Barbara Cochran, MFA (asker) Nov 16, 2021:
Actually, I think it's more like an "astrological elaboration" (my working translation).

Durinng this atrological update

During this astrological update, we could make out the outlines of Sigmaringen Castle from the terrace of the Burg Hohenzollern, whose proximity weighed on our memories and on this conversation.

But I really don't see the relevance of anything " astrological" in this text.

Sorry, " duRing", typo;

agree Carol Gullidge : This was what instantly sprang to mind!// and the astrological reference was “sous une même étoile"

during this astrological clarification/precision/explanation

You don't pinpoint which particular part of the phrase is problematic.
Just before, Rigaud is described as having said that he and Pétain were born under the same star and references a couple of events, albeit one of them figurative.
The "astrological clarification" is a tongue-in-cheek reference to what was said just before.

I also thought that "atrological interlude" might work well too.
