Russian term

как бы только их узреть

Russian to English Art/Literary Religion
И все поняли, что за холодными струями дождя
И впредь будут видеть промысел Божий
Питающий жизнью плоды добрые, как бы только их узреть?

Discussion

Michael Sarni Nov 27, 2021:
Alas, 'see' is the closest In almost all instances of 'узреть' in the NT Russian Synodal Translation (Mt. 5:8 and 26:66, Mk. 14:62, Lk. 3:6, Ac. 28:27, Rv. 1:7) in any 'oldish' English translation (be it Douay, KJV or RSV) we find see.
'See' appears to denote an act of 'participatory' perception, unlike 'behold'.
