A sagittal crest is a ridge of bone running lengthwise along the midline of the top of the skull (at the sagittal suture) of many mammalian and reptilian skulls, among others.

Als Scheitelkamm (Crista sagittalis) bezeichnet man in der Anatomie eine median gelegene Knochenleiste, die vom Schädeldach empor ragt und sich meist vom Hinterhauptbein bis ins Stirnbein hinein – das heißt entlang des Scheitels bzw. der Pfeilnaht – ausdehnt.

Daraus folgt: Scheitelkamm = crest, ridge = Kamm und Leiste, hier Kieferknochenleiste

Fazit: auch hier bestätigt sich, dass 'crest' und 'ridge' synonym sind, genauso wie die deutschen Entsprechungen "Kamm" und "Leiste". Wesentlich ist nur, die Kieferknochenleisten von der Kieferknochenstärke zu unterscheiden.
