Ah, I see, thank you, so it's an idiom, literally meaning "The calm is calm" but in fact meaning "All is calm", is that right?

To answer your question Thanks, so does "linu" mean "all"? I think the -i is the verb TO BE, isn't it?

So ''linu'' is a made-up word, it doesn't mean anything, it's a play on the adjective 'lin' which means calm. The - i is short for ''este'' which means 'to be', like you said. The correct phrase would be 'Linul este lin', but it's shortened to -i because that's how we speak it.

Again, this another popular Christmas carol.

Lin means at peace, calm. It's a play on the word 'lin', so meaning that everything is calm and quiet, but the phrase doesn't have a direct translation.
