sphere of time

Non-PRO English Art/Literary Religion Creationism
Our word is the “most important concept of time in the OT by which a point of time as well as a ***sphere of time*** can be expressed.” . . . It can denote: 1. the period of light (as contrasted with the period of darkness), 2. the period of twenty-four hours, 3. a general vague “time,” 4. a point of time, 5. a year

This is shown in the entry for "yôm" (the Hebrew word for "day") in a theological dictionary called Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament.
Change log

Mar 22, 2023 08:25: Thayenga changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): Christopher Schröder, Yvonne Gallagher, Thayenga

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Thank you all!
AllegroTrans Mar 23, 2023:
A long period of time
Yvonne Gallagher Mar 20, 2023:
With Ice Cream= period of time
Ana Juliá (asker) Mar 20, 2023:
My doubt is if it just means "period of time" or if something else is implied.
Christopher Schröder Mar 20, 2023:
sphere of time = period of time
AllegroTrans Mar 20, 2023:
Asker What exactly is your question? Are you looking for an opinion on which of the options 1-5 corresponds to "sphere of time"? This is not really a translation question.
