no conformes

Non-PRO Spanish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) Service agreement
This is from a service agreement between a client company and supplier. There is a supplier performance monitoring system which tracks the performance of the supplier and the products that it sends to the client company.

"Comunicar al Proveedor a la mayor brevedad posible los resultados no conformes derivados de las actividades de vigilancia de desempeño del Proveedor y de los Productos (Desempeños No Conformes y Suministros No Conformes)"

Is this best expressed as "non-compliant" - ie "non-compliant results", "non-compliant performance", "non-compliant supplies"?

Many thanks

Change log

Jul 11, 2023 15:56: AllegroTrans changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): philgoddard, Yvonne Gallagher, AllegroTrans

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

AllegroTrans Jul 26, 2023:
@ All There is nothing "rude" about voting "non pro". The site defines the criteria for PRO and NON PRO questions and this has no connection whatever with the asker or his/her abilities of professionalism.
Yvonne Gallagher Jul 11, 2023:
@Communican You already knew the answer to this yourself so I don't see why you think it's Pro? Anyway, your own answer is better than the one offered.
I certainly don't understand how you see this as being "rude" or not being helpful by pointing out the obvious? I also have "no reliable colleagues to spin my desk chair and quickly run things like this question past them" but that doesn't mean I run to Kudoz every time I have a slight doubt. A bit of Googling does wonders and surely takes less time! And there are probably entries already in the Proz glossary for this one e.g. https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/engineering-in...

And you are the one being rude by calling us names. Voting something non-pro is not intended to be PERSONAL so why take it that way?
Anyway, perhaps there should be NO distinction at all between pro/non pro in ANY language pair when people get so precious about it.
Comunican (asker) Jul 11, 2023:
@PhilGoddard and @Yvonne Gall This is not the first time you two have voted to downgrade one of my questions. You obviously have no idea how rude it feels to me and how smug and arrogant you come across.
I know down-voting is routine in the French Kudoz section, but not here. Here, we are kinder and we respect someone who is *professional* enough to check terms to ensure he has got them right - even after over 15 years as a PRO.
I have no reliable colleagues to spin my desk chair and quickly run things like this question past them. But by your rationale, I shouldn't use Kudoz for that.
I've asked you before: why do you even look at questions if you're going to upset people by down-voting them - as though you are some arbiter on what the right level of question is?
I'm not sure who you think you are, but if going around pressing the "Vote as Non-Pro" floats your boat, you should get out more.
Thanks for not helping me!

non-conforming results/performance/supplies

Since this is a service agreement and the specific excerpt refers to performance monitoring that conforms or not to previously agreed standards of service delivery, I suggest using the verb conform instead of comply. "Conform" relates to meeting standards or specifications, while "comply" emphasizes following rules or regulations. The original verb "conforme" denotes satisfaction or content with something; it also indicates a relationship of conformity, of correspondence (in this case, to pre-established standards of performance).

agree philgoddard : Noncompliant would be fine too - it doesn't have to be about rules and regulations.

neutral AllegroTrans : "non-compliant"
4 hrs
neutral Yvonne Gallagher : "non-compliant"
12 hrs
neutral liz askew : "non-compliant", so strictly speaking your answer is not correct.
