English term
sorb

Contesto:
"Flow-through experiments were used to test the effectiveness of these polymer-nanomagnetite aggregates at immobilising antimony.
To map the antimony distribution and amount **sorbed** to the aggregates, as well as get its oxidation state (which drives antimony immobilisation and removal from the water), synchrotron X-ray absorption spectroscopy and X-ray micro-fluorescence were used for the first time in such systems."
Merriam Webster spiega:
to sorb: "to take up and hold by either adsorption or absorption" ma non riesco a trovare molte occorrenze di una potenziale traduzione "sorbire" "sorbimento".
Qualche collega ha fonti attendibili?

adsorbire
Treccani:
"In chimica fisica, fissare alla propria superficie molecole in fase gassosa o liquida, riferito a sostanze chimiche, a membrane biologiche, ecc. (v. adsorbimento): sostanze adsorbite, capacità di adsorbire. ◆ Part. pres. adsorbènte, anche come agg. e s. m. (v. la voce). "

Note from asker:

assorbire / assorbimento
sorption / assorbimento è il concetto superiore
Sorption is a physical and chemical process by which one substance becomes attached to another. Specific cases of sorption are treated in the following articles:
Absorption
"the incorporation of a substance in one state into another of a different state"[1] (e.g., liquids being absorbed by a solid or gases being absorbed by a liquid);
Adsorption
The physical adherence or bonding of ions and molecules onto the surface of another phase (e.g., reagents adsorbed to a solid catalyst surface);
Ion exchange
...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sorption
