The above appears in a document describing treatment administered to a patient. I cannot figure out what the 判 and 定 refer to here.

Any suggestions sincerely appreciated.

Following on from your comment, as you say, it does not look from the layout as if the text is to be read vertically
(It looks like 定 is not included in the source text in your follow-up.)

This might be a reference as to whether the tests were valid or not.
CoV2Ag (Nasopharyngeal swab) Void (Excluded) [i.e. no determination could be made]
CoV2Ag (Nasopharyngeal swab) Valid [i.e. determination made]
CoV2Ag (Nasopharyngeal swab) Valid

CoV2Ag Nasopharyngeal swab determination

It depends on how the characters are laid out on the page, but if the source text layout is as shown, it may be that the two characters 判 and 定 are supposed to be read in combination vertically. "判定" ("determination/assessment") is commonly used to describe the result of a COVID 19 test. Therefore 判定 here refers to the result from one or more nasopharyngeal swabs.
Example sentence:

IgG、IgM

Note from asker:
Thank you for your kind assistance. I was able to get the original file from the client. The layout format is table, with the entries listed as follows under the heading of So, I don't think this would typically be read vertically, although I suppose it could be here. Does this provide any further clarification? Thank you!
