No context No point in guessing or discussing
procedure within another procedure

I've deleted my answer because it got so many negative comments, but I still think it could be a mistake for 'contencioso'. I shouldn't have posted without the context.
More context needed José, maybe if you could offer an excerpt of the text that contains this expression, we could help you better.

Otherwise, see the reference comment I posted below. Without any other context, I'd go for something along those lines I suggested.

Agree with Toni Phrases like this don't exist in isolation. Context is king.

@José The only way to properly help you in this query is by posting the exact phrase where the term "contentivo" appears. I do not need to tell you that "procedimiento" can certainly mean "proceedings" (likely meaning here), but also something different depending on the context we do not have. And if its meaning is different to "proceedings", the situation changes at once.

Reference:

Contentivo = que contiene

agree Toni Castano : "Contentivo: que contiene", LATAM usage, unknown in Spain, this is surely the meaning, nothing to do with "contested".

Thank you! From what I read over the internet, that's exactly the intended meaning, Toni!
