"attachments" and "accessories" into French (QUEBEC)
I work in the lawn and garden industry, where we manufacture lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc. We used to translate "attachments" and "accessories" into French as "accessoires." However, I have decided to reconsider this translation based on an explanation provided by one of the product managers. "As for the distinction between 'attachments' and 'accessories,' attachments are additional features that can help users complete tasks more efficiently or assist with more challenging tasks. Accessories, on the other hand, are primarily decorative or add novelty value, such as a sun shade." Given this explanation, what do you believe is the best term to translate each of these words? Do you still think we can translate "attachment" and "accessory" into French as "accessoires"? I am leaning towards choosing a different word, but I am unsure which one. I would appreciate your insight
