Toch nog een aantal Google hits in de financiële sector gevonden, waarvan 1 trefwoordenregister, om aan te tonen dat 'technical result' in de levensverzekeringwereld wordt gebruikt:

underwriting result, technical result
I don't know the term from personal experience, but one of the possibilities given by A.J. de Keizer in his "Financieel Economisch Lexicon" is "underwriting profit/loss/result". It applies for an insurance context [verzekeringen]. The other alternative he gives is indeed "technical result". W. Vermeij's "Woordenboek Verzekeringsbedrijf" (Ned-Eng/Eng-Ned) renders "technisch verlies" as "underwriting loss", which would support "underwriting profit/loss/result" in an insurance context. On the whole, I think "underwriting result" ("result", of course, is a neutral term for either profit or loss) would be a fairly safe bet in an insurance context. Otherwise I would have no apprehensions about using "technical result".
