Is there a marketing term in German for vision vehicle that hits the nail on the head? The English uses this term to describe the new car model which was developed on the basis of an existing model. The existing German (which I am re-working) uses Zukunftsmodell. Konzeptfahrzeug comes to mind, but I wonder if that might not be too intangible (i.e. something existing only on the drawing board). The "vision vehicle", or at least its prototype, exists already. Any smart ideas? Thanks!

I do not know the automobile marketing definitions of either "Studie" OR "vision vehicle" but they sound similar. "Studie" is also used a lot in Germany as you can see below: -

Hi there,
maybe you just want to switch the word order. If you use "Das Auto der Zukunft" or "Das Modell /Fahrzeug der Zukunft" or some like that it could mean that the prototype already exists.
Or what about "Die neue Generation der Autos"?

Sometimes a rather simplistic approach might cater more well for the target group: customers.
Esp. marketing has a tendency to cross the border from art to artificial and forget about the original task altogether.
Instead of "Fahrzeug" (vehicle) you obviously can use "Auto" (car) or whatever is appropriate with the given type/model.

Looking at the other answers which exclusively focus on the car being the future model I think that „vision“ foregrounds another aspect of the new model namely that it is visionary, e.g. incorporates the dreams and visions of engineers or drivers. Therefore I would suggests „Traummodell (or Traumauto)“, „Visionäres Modell (or visionäres Fahrzeug“, „ein aus Visionen entwickeltes Modell (or Auto)“.
On the other hand, if you do want to focus on the future character of the new model you might also consider „Auto der neuen Generation“ or „Modell der nächsten Generation“.
