In a piece of opinion article about economics there is this sentence:
"Another option for western countries would be to ratchet down oil imports rather than halting them completely."

According to the internet, it means "to grow less in scope or intensity especially gradually"

Could anyone help me find the equivalent word for "ratchet down" in Indonesian?
