Magistrates' Court görev ve yetki kapsamı olarak Sulh Mahkemesine yakın olmakla birlikte, Magistrate veya Justice (of Peace) adlı görevliler meslekten hukukçu veya hukuk eğitim görmüş kişiler değil. Hukuksal konularda "clerk fo the court" adli, hukuk eğitimi görmüş olan memurdan görüş ve tavsiye alırlar. "Chief Executive" ise mahkemenin idari işleriyle uğraşan "Magistrates’ Courts Committee"nin kadrolu memuru. Küçük yerlerde Chief Executive "clerk fo the court" ile aynı kişi olabiliyor. Bu görevinn eski adı "Clerk to the Magistrates’ Courts Committee"ydi. Adı "Chief Executive" ama aslında "Administrative" işlevi var.
Mahkeme İdari Memuru, Yetkili idari Memuru gibi alternatifler de düşünülebilir. Ama bence görevinin niteliğine İdare Amiri uygun düşüyor.

Explanation:
Justices' Chief Executive who acts as the Head of the Paid Service and who is responsible for the 'day to day management' of the service. It is structured currently to reflect the prime functions of resources management, personnel management and training management. The Chief Executive's Office also provides some of the administrative support for the work of the Lord Chancellor's Advisory Committees in the County, although the initial selection procedure is carried out by the four divisions through 4 Advisory Sub-Committees.
