mounting Explanation: It's just another word for the bit that holds the pads in position (and in this case, as it's a floating system, that allows them to move as required).

Front Wheel Brake Check and Adjustment It is recommended to have the following work made by a special service. For the front wheel hydraulic brake, the brake plates are self-adjusting. Due to wet, dirty or wear the brake plates can become hardly movable in the disk brake yoke body after long use. http://www.jawamoped.com/Dandy_MJ50_handbook.pdf The Disc Brake Yoke is an essential component for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of your vehicle's braking system. The Disc Brake Yoke's primary function is to connect the disc brake caliper to the brake pad, allowing for precise and reliable braking action. It plays a crucial role in ensuring that the braking force is evenly distributed, preventing uneven wear and tear on the brake pads and promoting longer pad life. https://midwestmilitaryequipment.com/disc-brake-yoke/ "Sliding caliper disc brake with air evacuation between balusters and bores" : - Figure 1 a top view, partially broken away, of a stirrup and a clevis of a disc brake, illustrating in particular the cooperation of each caliper of the stirrup in the associated stepped bore of the clevis d a disk brake according to the invention; : - Figure 3 is a side view, partially broken away, showing the yoke and the yoke of Figure 1 https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2015071309A2/en Note: The figures are shown under https://worldwide.espacenet.com/patent/search/family/0499171... |

chape (frein), contexte : brevet carrier (brake), context: patents Explanation: Et une autre référence de Bosch, ici c'est la chape (14) = carrier, toujours. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 heures (2024-02-12 19:48:13 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Extraits de https://data.epo.org/publication-server/document?iDocId=3942... pour ceux qui ne voudraient pas chercher par le lien : ... disque (12) qui est monté tournant autour d’un axe (B), du type dans lequel l’étrier (28) est monté coulissant axialement par rapport à **la chape (14)** au moyen d’un premier (40A) et d’un second (40B) axes de guidage parallèles axiaux, ..." "a disc (12) which is mounted such that it can rotate about an axis (B), of the type in which the caliper (28) is mounted such that it can slide axially in relation to **the carrier (14)** by means of a first (40A) and of a second (40B) axial parallel guide pin, ..." Non seulement le brevet en anglais utilise le terme carrier plutôt que yoke mais le terme colonnette est lui aussi absent en français alors que c'est le terme technique habituel, plutôt que boulon ou axe de guidage. On dirait que la terminologie varie très concrètement entre les brevets et les documents techniques courants ! D'où l'intérêt d'avoir ta confirmation quant au type de document que tu traduis. https://data.epo.org/publication-server/document?iDocId=4464421&iFormat=0 |

bracket Explanation: Brake Caliper Bracket The brake caliper bracket is a metal component that mounts the brake caliper to the vehicle's suspension system, allowing it to move freely while maintaining proper alignment with the brake rotor. The bracket also serves as a mounting point for the brake pads. Over time, the brake caliper bracket can become worn or damaged, potentially leading to uneven brake pad wear or reduced braking performance. https://nubrakes.com/blog/car-brake-glossary/ Peugeot (which calls them both chape d'étrier and support d'étrier) seems to call the things 'brackets' (see image), as do Ford, Dodge, Jeep, & Chevrolet (the ones I've looked into). But if the vehicle is of German extraction, people seem to call them 'saddles' (Sattel). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 8 hrs (2024-02-13 01:03:43 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- |

fork Explanation: In the automotive sector it translates like this. "Coverage" an alternative that doesn't convince me. |
