What is the word in English for this? I understand the concept. It allows you to install a pack over an existing one. But what is that called?

La réentrance consiste à autoriser l’installation du package sur une installation existante. Elle est gérée dans les pré-requis obligatoires.

re-entry
Le Grand dictionnaire terminologique show "re-entry" for this term. Basically, it means that, if something goes wrong during an installation, you can *re-enter* it later at exactly the same point where it errored out before.
An example of the term being used in this context:
http://ani.sourceforge.net/process.php?lang=en
"Reentry-ability / If a defined error occurs during the post windows installation, the installation can be continued after the problem was fixed and the client was rebooted. The Installation then begins exact at that point where the errors occured."

I would need more context to be sure. The text seems to talk about a reinstallation using the remote distribution client to reinstall itself, which is not always a simple thing to do.
