I believe chapiteaux means 'capitals'.

The columns consist of splined pilasters and are on top of consoles ???

Corbels Note that corbelling is specifically for masonry construction because it uses compression rather than tension.

As consoles may or may not be corbelled, I think it is safer to stick to "consoles".
