The filters concerned are part of a public water system.

Does 'biologie' simply mean 'organic matter' here? And if so, would one say 'colonization by organic matter' or 'organic colonization' (Google search proved inconclusive)...or is there another way of saying this?

• Une forte colonisation par la biologie des filtres CAG de l’usine X que l’on tardait à régénérer a été mise en évidence. La lente maturation des filtres (30 min. à 1 heure), lors de la remise en fonctionnement suite à un rétro-lavage, conduit un risque de relargage de biologie que l’on risque de retrouver en sortie d’usine car la chloration est peu efficace vis-à-vis de ces micro-organismes (source possible de non-conformités). Le changement de la vitesse de lavage des filtres (vitesse de rétro-lavage) n’a pas permis de contrôler ce problème durablement. Il est proposé de collecter les eaux filtrées pendant cette période de maturation pour les renvoyer en tête de station. Enfin, une régénération plus régulière des filtres GAC devrait également contribuer à limiter ce phénomène.
