Hydraulic loading arm
DECONNEXION ELECTRIQUE
En présence de détecteurs sur la partie basse du Style 80, il existe un système de déconnexion électrique réalisé à partir de prise du commerce.
The context is a marine (hydraulic) loading arm. The 'Style 80' is a type of swivel joint on the arm. The electrical disconnection feature is an integrated safety mechanism - all this is clear, but unless I am missing something really obvious, what on earth is the 'prise du commerce' referring to?

commercially-available plug
...or '...plug-&-socket combination', if it is talking about the mating pair.
That's what I'd usually understand it to mean; you might also say 'standard' or 'off-the-shelf', but I think 'commercially-available' is clearest.
It means 'as distinct from a custom designed and built device'
I don't think this is an 'integrated safety device'; I believe it simply means that 'where detectors are fitted on the lower part, they can be disconnected if necessary using a mating pair of commercially-available connectors [or plug & socket]'
Clearly, if you start fitting extra bits onto this lower arm or whatever, you need to provide a way of disconnecting them in the event that the arm has to be dismantled for some reason...

Comment: "Indeed - and I had wondered if it simply meant this - and then dismissed it as I had never actually come across the expression 'du commerce' used in this way. Thanks for clearing this up."

: Naturally! But don't you think maybe that's skipping over the 'du commerce' bit?

: Yes, indeed, as I said in my answer; however, because the word 'standard' can have lots of different, specific meanings, it might not be the ideal term to use here? / No prob, I know the feeling! Don't care about my answer, just the linguistic worry...
