French term

au pas de

French to English Tech/Engineering Engineering (general) fireproof curtain
Les coulisses sont fixées à la construction support par goujons M10 au pas de 500 mm, après interposition d'un cordon de mastic intumescent Lorient (ODICE).

The fireproof curtain is the kind across the entrance to a supermarket, for example. I am guessing "every 500mm".

Discussion

David Goward Oct 8, 2008:
You're right! Yes, the M10 studs are positioned every 500 mm.

on a [500 mm] pitch OR at intervals of 500 mm OR at 500 mm spacing

Several different ways it can be expressed in EN.

This question has come up several times before, and should appear at least once in the glossary.

agree Bashiqa : Well well. Its a good job Bourth hasn't come up with one of his more cryptic comments.

Thanks, Bashiqa! Indeed, yes... You try to help people, and they bite your head off...
agree Bourth (X) : Or "at xxmm centres". Really, Tony, you should be more careful with your tongue. Some people are sensitive in the funniest places. Some are even Dutch avenue, distorted. Who said "cryptic"?

Thanks a lot, Matt! Yes, such a pity isn't it, why can't people all just be NICE to each other — even if it sometimes involves 'disagreeing' ;-) Cheers, pal!
