French term or phrase: comptes d'ordre divers
This appears as standalone text on a bank statement for an organisation from Cote d'Ivoire. The text is actually "COMPTES ORD DIVERS", but I think it's an abbreviation for "comptes d'ordre divers".

A "compte d'ordre" seems to be a suspense account in English, but I'm not sure about the whole phrase.

English translation:sundry accounts
Explanation:
I think it's more likely to be "d'ordre divers" than "comptes d'ordre", especially since this is a bank statement, not a set of accounts.

I'm now going to undermine my own answer by suggesting that it could mean "ordinaires".

sundry suspense accounts; miscellaneous accounts

Explanation:
> miscellaneous suspense accounts would be a tautology: 'miscellaneous accounts are suspense accounts. A suspense account is an account that should be used to temporarily record items that are unidentified or cannot be recorded to the accounts yet.'

'A sundry suspense account is a type of bank account that is used to temporarily hold funds that cannot be immediately identified or allocated to a specific account.'

Perchance we ought to be worried about the (unforgivable) oblivion of the term of 'suspense account'.

Example sentence(s):
  • iate: fr compte d'attente COM compte d'ordre COM en suspense account
  • suspense account: suspense account; plural noun: suspense accounts an account in the books of an organization in which items are entered temporarily before allocation to the correct or final account.
