français term

secteur protégé et les entreprises adaptées

français vers anglais Autre Ressources humaines
I'm wondering if there is a UK equivalent of the above. Or (as I suspect), failing that, how to translate this into UK English. The meaning is quite specific in French.

Small detail ... "secteur protégé" and "entreprises adaptées" might well be related terms but unless they are ALWAYS used together to imply a new meaning different from the meanings of each terms on their own, I see here TWO separate questions.

Even a cursory check shows that these are TWO different concepts.

@Anne Submitted the solution, I'm glad i could help !

@ezpz Oh please don't be scared! However, I've used 'inclusive' elsewhere and I think this term is wider than the meaning here. I'm going to stick with Samuël's suggestion, but thanks for contributing.

I have been ruminating "inclusive work environments and protected industries" three comments ago, but now I'm too scared to suggest it as an answer.
Anne McDowall (asker) Apr 7, 2022:
@Samuël Buysschaert Thanks for this. I was just about to submit with the solution other seem to have adopted – 'protected and adapted work sector' – but I prefer 'sheltered and adapted employment sector', and sources, though fewer, seem more reliable. Can you propose this as a translation please so that I can select it? (Provided no one else comes up with better in the next 24 hours! Though I'll be using your suggestion anyway.) Thanks!
writeaway Apr 7, 2022:
One option is to keep the French since there doesn't seem to be an official translation and put an English equivalent or brief explanation in ( ) or [ ]

Also found this, might be of help,

@GGruia Thanks for taking the time to post references. Unfortunately, the first is a word-for-word translation from French. It has, however, been used by hundreds of other people in translation (or so it would appear from a Google search), which I suspect means that others have had the same trouble as me with this rather than that is an officially recognised term. If I don't find anything else suitable before I need to hand this in, I'll go with it, thought.
I've commented on the other term already.

Anne McDowall (asker) Apr 7, 2022:
@writeaway Nothing 'official': 'protected work sector', which I've seen elsewhere, doesn't sound convincing to me. Something like 'social solidarity sector' or 'businesses' or 'disability-friendly businesses' are too vague, I think. In France, an 'entreprise adapté' (EA) is a business that, by law, must include a minimum of 55% disabled people in its workforce. Obviously, I understand that I'm not going to find an exact equivalent.
