COMPTE RENDU D'HOSPITALISATION
I'm a little unsure about the translation of "processus polymitotique" here. My initial thought was that it's referring to polymyositis but I'd really appreciate a second opinion.
Many thanks in advance.

polymitotic process
I would tend to keep the same vocabulary as in the French. As here
Regressive retinal detachment disclosing a polymitotic prostatic process

neoplastic processes
I agree with John Holland that this is a euphemistic language. Doctors wishing to veil their communication in a similar way in English would probably use neoplasia/neoplastic as sufficiently obscure to the layperson whilst fairly unambiguous to the insider. Polymitosis doesn't tug my idiomatic clapper ; and malignant is insufficiently coded.

: Yes, I think that, in a report of this kind, this term would be used in a more general (medical) sense than in a specifically technical sense.

Discussion
This is different than saying that no testing for polymitotic processes was conducted, because that could imply (logically, in any case) that there might have been testing for other kinds of pathologic mitosis processes.
This is especially so when we have evidence of the fact that, in French, "polymitose" is a medical euphemism for cancer. Here is another link to that effect (from https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cancer#Terminologie_et_.C3.A9t... ):
"Du fait d'une image négative sur le pronostic auprès du public, le cancer a de nombreux synonymes employés par les médecins : tumeur maligne, néoplasie, néoplasme, polymitose, carcinome, etc."
In contrast, references to "polymitosis" in English seem to involve genetics. For example, see:
http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=polymitosis
In other words, there is also a question of register here.
(In any case, all of this about something other than "polymyositis".)
