French term

infiltration spiculée résiduelle

French to English Medical Medical (general) PET scan
Hi,

The sentence is the following:
"Franche diminution de taille et d'intensité de la lésion pulmonaire résiduelle qui est représentée ce jour par une infiltration spiculée résiduelle mal mesurable et faiblement métabolique"

I found a lot of hits for "spiculated nodule", "spiculated mass", "spiculated border/margin" but can't seem to find anything with "spiculated infiltration"

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Joanna

residual infiltrating spiculation

http://www.cancernetwork.com/lung-cancer/radiologic-appearan...

Spiculation, defined as linear strands extending from the nodule margin into the lung parenchyma but not extending to the pleural margin, was present in approximately 90% of primary carcinomas. It was also seen in 5 of the 11 benign lesions.

I think infiltration refers to invasion of the parenchyma surrounding the tumour nodule
