MRI/Diagnostic Test Technique
Hello everyone,
Thanks in advance to all of you who will spend your precious time on this doubt of mine which is literally exasperating me.
While translating a knee MRI report (issued by a French hospital), I came across the abbreviation BPCO in the 'Technique' section; in particular, the section in question reported the following words:
'TECHNIQUE: BPCO, sagittales et coronales T1.'
After trying more than once to search for meanings of BPCO other than 'Bronchopneumopathie Chronique Obstructive', I gave up on the research.
I do not know whether it is a typo or a specialised expression whose meaning is too technical to find on the web. Maybe it refers to something so easy that I am failing to see it.
I hope you will help me more than Internet has done so far.

blindage passif et champ ouvert
I knew there was 2 types of MRI, open or closed, so I am pretty sure of the "champ ouvert", but unsure of the B and P. f
Found options: blindage passif, bobine passive. There was also mention of "Contraste de phase (PC), which is when a contrast agent is injected. This would however void the suggestion of "champ ouvert", so I'm not sure.
My ultimate suggestion: clarify with your client...
Hope this helps.

Comment: "Thank you kindly for your efforts, Sarah! Your answer seems to be what could likely come closer to the true meaning of such an abbreviation. However, if your attempt should not be the correct answer, this one would still remain much of a mystery, I'm afraid."
