Rachel Fell (asker) Aug 5, 2020:
Thank you Liz, Karen and others.
claude-andrew Aug 5, 2020:
@Chris I shall pass that teaspoon gag on to my son, who has just bought some gallium. Note: gallium is not toxic, though its salts are.
chris collister Aug 4, 2020:
@Bashiqa Make a teaspoon mould, pour in gallium and put it in the fridge. Give to wife to stir tea, then respond with "gallic" shrug...
Bashiqa Aug 4, 2020:
@ CC Fully agree. Thinking about buying some as it is a solid but melts at hand heat and then behaves like mercury but without the poisoning bit.
chris collister Aug 4, 2020:
It's amazing what you can learn when translating! I now know that gallium (BTW SI convention is for "gallium" (lower case) or "Ga") has 31 isotopes. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isotopes_of_gallium.
See also: "PRN (pureté radionucléide) - rapport exprimé en pourcentage, de l’activité du radionucléide considéré à l’activité totale de la source." Though "faisant un PRN" seems a bit irregular, or probably just shorthand.
Karen Tkaczyk Aug 4, 2020:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12234596/#:~:text= Gallium-66 (T(1/2) = 9.49 h) is an intermediate-lived radionuclide that has potential for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of biological processes with intermediate to slow target tissue uptake.
Bashiqa Aug 4, 2020:
@ Karen Check out that it does actually exist.
Karen Tkaczyk Aug 4, 2020:
Agree with Liz That makes complete sense.
Karen Tkaczyk Aug 4, 2020:
I'm stumped Thought about PRN and got nowhere, sorry.
Bashiqa Aug 4, 2020:
@ rachel Does Ga 66 exist?
Bashiqa Aug 4, 2020:
@ Liz Gallium 68 possibly and not 66
liz askew Aug 4, 2020:
PRN : Pureté radionucléidique.
Karen Tkaczyk Aug 4, 2020:
Gallium 66 The element
Rachel Fell (asker) Aug 4, 2020:
Hi Liz, Ga-66 or Gallium-66
liz askew Aug 4, 2020:

liz askew Aug 4, 2020:

Radionuclide purity, as suggested in references
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : If it does mean "purity", you can't "carry out a purity". I think the P could be something else.

agree chris collister : Yes. But "doing an RNP" does sound excessively abbreviated.
