French term

de la C.E.

French to English Bus/Financial Tourism & Travel
This term appears on a CV in a job description in the following context:
Aout 1996 -aout 1999: Carlson Wagonlit Travel
(Business center et implant Cour des Comptes de la C.E.)
What does C.E. stand for? I'd guess European Coucil but why the feminine article, or does it perhaps refer to a specific person, a councilor, and maybe it was a woman who had this position then?

agree writeaway : indeed-the EEC was the CEE and now it's the CE and the EC. the fun is when one translates old EEC docs having to do with new CE directives. etc. I think it's all some evil plot to give the illusion they are working :-)
