could this be exclusive hunting rights?

Just going by how the Cree Nation feels about this species, maybe they managed to get a treaty reserving them the exclusive right to hunt this animal, thus preserving the species for their cultural requirements.

neutral Andrew Bruch : Sometimes this is turned around to be "exclusive rights to hunt/fish X" ... in other words though the French emphasizes the end-product, the English targets the means of acquisition.
