Referring to a sliding window (Schiebefenster). I have found so many different translations of "Ansichtshöhe" - "face height", "view height", "sightline height", etc. Anyone know which one is best suited to a window?

Ich würde den Satz wie folgt vereinfachen und dann übersetzen: "Die sichtbare Höhe der horizontalen Profile wurde auf 15 mm reduziert" oder "Die sichteinschränkende/sichtbegrenzde Höhe ..." je nachdem, was der Kunde betonen möchte. Das ist klarer als der vieldeutige und irreführende Begriff "Ansichftshöhe".

Unfortunately, some peers do not accept incorrect expressions caused by accidentally pressing the wrong key while the cellphone autocompletes the expression, and negate all answers and references by disagreeing due to a typo. Since the answer line is not correctable, I have to reconstruct and rpost all references.
I suggest to simplify the sentence as follows and translate it as follows: "Die sichtbare Höhe/Breite der horizontalen Profile wurde auf 15 mm reduziert" or "Die sichteinschränkende/sichtbegrenzende Höhe ..." depending on what the customer wants to emphasize. This is clearer than the ambiguous and misleading term "Ansichtshöhe".

This in not the point! The issue is that the view is obstructed by window bars and the incidence of light is reduced in the room. Therefore, its width and height have been reduced. This must be taken into account.

Ansichtshöhe ist weder vieldeutig noch irreführend, sondern der bei Fachleuten übliche Terminus technicus:
